Happy February,
I hope you are safe, sound and taking good care amid this strange, challenging season. Taking action when I can is carrying me through and I'm buoyed by the recent show of solidarity displayed by my fellow musicians. Thanks to those who joined us at Ivy Room on January 26 to support the ACLU via the latest 19 Voices show! It was a great day filled with awesome performances and we were able to donate more than $1300 to the ACLU and hopefully bring even more awareness to the important work they're doing. It feels great to support those who are in the trenches fighting to protect our basic rights and freedoms by bringing together a broad spectrum of amazing voices. We're already figuring out plans to continue doing these shows! But before that, my folk opera project, 'Flight Lessons' — which at its heart is about freedom and coexistence —is at long last taking off in Alameda on Saturday, February 8.  Will I see you there? Hope so!
