In March 2020, just before the pandemic lockdown, I spent two weeks as a resident at Chalk Hill Vineyards, initiating work on what I envisioned to be a bird-themed musical. Then the world shutdown, it was hard to imagine staging anything, and my creative energy pivoted to porch concerts and local zines. But I've kept chipping away at the project here and there over the past few years, playing the occasional ‘bird song’ around the house and tending to my initial inspiration. So when me and Michael McNevin booked a reboot of our annual February birthday show, it seemed like a great time to ready a performance of the project in its current folk opera form.

Award-winning songwriter and tireless troubadour Michael McNevin spent most of the pandemic years live-streaming shows from his renowned Mudpuddle Music Shop. He was recently signed to Baker Booking roster and expects to be touring much of the remainder of the year so it's a great time to catch him in SF.
I'll be joined by Kwame Copeland and Tania Johnson to fledge the first iteration of my musical-in-progress Flight Lessons which I began writing as an artist-in-residence at Chalk Hill. Come help us celebrate!
