A fall flight in the heart of North Beach

Hello and happy November,
I'm gearing up for the next performance of my "Flight Lessons" folk opera, a project that's both near and dear to me and expanding my creative horizons. I'm writing today to invite you to its next staging, Friday, November 10 at The Lost Church in San Francisco. This latest version of my bird-themed musical-in-progress features the considerable talents of actor/songwriter/multi-instrumentalists Mick Shaffer, Melissa Phillips-DePrato, Kwame Copeland and Craig Miller. The Welcome Matt, whose opening the show with a special set along with CALI&CO dance, is even making a cameo. This is my last, and most personally important, show of the year  — please join us. 🙏🏼 💫 Deborah

About "Flight Lessons"

When I was a child, the first thing I’d do when I woke up each morning was to look outside my window to see who was in the yard. We lived in a rural part of Santa Cruz County and beyond the yard, was an undeveloped hillside full of quail, rabbits, coyotes and other creatures. I went on to study natural history in college spending summers in the mountains releasing Peregrine Falcons, who were then an endangered species, back into the wild. Since then, life has led me on a host of other adventures, but my curiosity about who else is sharing my home environment has never left me. In "Flight Lessons," I explore a story about present-day Peregrine Falcons living at the intersection of the urban and natural environment near my current home in Alameda. Come take a listen on November 10!
